Gomez Cruzado

Bodegas y Viñedos Gómez Cruzado

The origins of Bodegas y Viñedos Gómez Cruzado date back to 1886, when Ángel Gómez de Arteche, a nobleman related to the Duke of Moctezuma de Tultengo, decided to start making and bottling his own wine in Haro, in the heart of Rioja Alta. Thus, a century-old cellar was born which would go on to make history in Haro and Rioja during the late 19th century. In 1916, the winery was purchased by Ángel and Jesús Gómez Cruzado, both natives of Rioja, for whom the winery is named, even today. Presently, Gómez Cruzado is run by the leadership team of Rioja-natives David González and Juan Antonio Leza, two young winemakers and viticulturists who share over a decade of experience as consultants for significant projects in different regions around the world. David and Juan Antonio have been advising the company since 2008 and today it is their primary passion.
