ISOLE E OLENA EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL 2011

This may be the best oil from the Chianti Classico zone in Tuscany. Owner Paolo De Marchi is revered for his work as a farmer and winemaker. His production of Chianti Classico and the iconic Cepparello are among the best wines to come out of Italy. He treats his 90 year old olive trees with equally as much care and produces just a wonderful green gold oil that is to die for. Paolo says his family is raised on olive oil and are the first to consume it, so it must be 100% natural and organic. It's a mix of old trees, early harvested Frantoio, Leccione and Moraiolo varieties. Bottled unfiltered. The 2011 arrived in February 900 cases produced, we have 25 cases for Colorado.

LA SPINETTA EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL 2011

Giuliana Imports is proud to be the exclusive importer of La Spinetta's olive oil. Olives are hand harvested in early October to insure low yield, 'green' oil full of tannin and other preserving elements that give the oil longevity and little to no oxidation over the first several years of it's life. The 2011 oil is produced on site with an extremely gentle press that cuts the olives instead of grinding, lowering the processing temperature, then cold pressed and bottled unfiltered in a dark green bottle to cancel any adverse effects of light. As with all Giuliana products, it's shipped refrigerated to our insulated warehouse. This is a serious oil packed with Tuscan oil qualities of herbs, artichokes and fresh grass. It has a wonderful touch of heat on the finish. Absolutely incredible to season a steak with right off the grill or to snap up fresh Burrata cheese! 600 cases produced.

PANIOLE EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL 2011

The 2011 Paniole Extra Virgin Olive Oil is USDA certified organic. Olivastra Seggianese olives make up 50% of the blend and are from 100+ year old trees planted in poor Galestro soils. The rest of the blend is comprised of Leccino and Moraiolo varieties from 50 to 80 year old trees. Located in Southern Tuscany the oil is more Mediterranean with a richer style. Alessandra Ciacci, the owner, is very proud of her oil and has been committed to organic farming since 1972. We were first shown the oil back in 2004 at her winery in Montalcino, Az. Agr. Mocali. We arrived the day after they pressed the oil. She poured it for us over fresh bread and I never remember seeing a more brilliant green-gold colored oil. 400 cases produced.
