Revello
Welcome to one of the great new estates from Barolo. Brothers Enzo and Carlo Revello run the
family estate today that until 1954 was operated under a tenant farmers agreement until the family
purchased the land from the local parish in La Morra.
In 1967 the estate bottling some wine, but still most
of the fruit was sold and it would have to wait until the
late 80’s when things got interesting. As fate would
have it the Revello’s neighbor was none other than
Elio Altare, one of the worlds great farmers, under his
expert guidance and very generous support, the Rev-
ello brothers began a quest for quality that began in
the vineyards and today results in one of the most
famous new estates in Barolo. What caught Elio’s eye
early were the vineyards of course. Old vine holdings
in Conca, Gancia and Gattera are among the top vine-
yards in the La Morra comune. Enzo and Carlo quick-
ly set out and began to work the long road of strict
viticulture to produce high quality fruit in low, focused
quantities. Enzo who mostly works the cellars now
began producing small quantities of wine that really
accentuated the supple qualities of Nebbiolo from
the sandy, softer soils of La Morra. In a short time the
brothers wines became very popular and the three crus
yielded Barolos frantically searched out by the world.
The late nineties established them as one of the best
new additions to Barolo. Today these are extremely
high quality wines offer tremendous enjoyment upon
release due to the delicious dark cherry fruits and spice
and in great years like 2004 can age 20 years. Even today these wines represent unbelievable value
as they are wines from the top vineyards of Barolo, all estate fruit and estate produced by hand.
