Cantina del Taburno
Cantina del Taburno, built in 1972, is located at the foot of Mt. Taburno in Campagne in the town of Foglianise. This is a very high quality association of growers that control over 500 hectares of vineyards. Unlike a typical Co-Op based on production and payment on tonnage rather than quality, Cantina del Taburno has 300 associate growers that are unified in producing very high quality wines thru great farming. The winery has invested in decades of research to the indigenous varities Falanghina, Greco, Aglianico and others. Winemakers of the association are in direct communication with the growers working together on the difficulties of the vintages. The result is an extraordinary high quality of wines that have defined the area and added to the rich history of wine production and exportation, which dates back 2000 years. While we like all the wines the estate produces, we love the Falanghina. Grown around the village of Benevento and a DOC Taburno wine the Falanghina is simply brilliant. The wine is fragrant and floral with incredible persistence, varietal character and backed by complex minerality.
