The Molettieri estate owns eleven hectares in Montemarano, historically one of the two finest crus of the appellation. Perfect ripening occurs here in the first week of November, yielding a wines of powerful authority and concentration. The estate bottled its first wine with the 1988 vintage, and then used the profits  and invested in planting their current vineyards. Thus, in 1989, 1990 and 1991 all grapes were sold off in order to buy barrels for the following vintages and the next vintage to be bottled was the 1992. Salvatore Molettieri, a man of exquisite generosity, produces Taurasi that  stands up to the greatest wines of Piedmont and Tuscany.
