Mauro Molino
Azienda Agricola Mauro Molino is a 12Ha estate located in the commune of La Morra. They claim holdings in some of La Morra's best vineyards: Gattera, Gancia, Conca and Gallinotto. The family has owned the farm since 1953, but Mauro was the first to bottle wine in 1978 and the first Barolo was 1982. Now Mauro's son Matteo and daughter Martina are taking on a large role in the estate; truly a family operation. La Morra is on the soft side of Barolo, the western side, it has blueish soils of chalk, calcerous clay that are mixed with sand and are more fertile than soils in the Eastern side. The supple nature of La Morra Nebbiolo and Barbera are on full display at the Molino estate. Total production of all wines at the estate is a mere 6000 cases, this level of production allows the family to control all aspects of the vinicutlutre and wine making.
The farm is located at the lower eastern side of the La Morra hill, in the hamlet of Annunziata. Annunziata is a sub section of La Morra and is where the Conca vineyard is located.
