Sottimano owns 2.5 Ha parcel in the Cotta vineyard, the vines are 44 years old and face South and Southwest.  Cotta is located in the commune of Nieve right on the border with Barbaresco.  It combines the power and tannins of Barbaresco with the dark fruit and full bodied character of Nieve.  This may be the most long lived wine of the estate, easily reaching 30 years in good vintages, however the wine has tremendous fruit and aromatics that are wonderful on it's release.

Adrea has a very light hand in the cellar and is gaining a tremendous following, his wine making is not a formula, he's continually pushing for better quality and for more natural wines.  The press these wines receive here and abroad is tremendous and he is one of the most exciting young producers to watch.
