Breca Rose

  • Varietals: 100% Garnacha de Aragón, the oldest clone of Garnacha (Grenache) in the world. Garnacha (Grenache) was first cultivated in this northeastern corner of Spain and transferred across the Mediterranean by the Kingdom of Aragón.

  • VineyardsMultiple old mountain vineyards. (El Plano, Barranco de la Rambla, Cerro Verde, Cerro del Cura, La Laguna) planted between 1945 and 1970. Traditional dry farmed viticulture. Organic Gobelet trained vines. Cultivated completely by hand, with minimal human intervention. The majority of the vineyards receive no treatments whatsoever.

  • Soils: Cambrian-Silurian slate and quartz soils, partially covered by a thin layer of calcareous Mesozoic soil.

  • Winemaking: Hand-harvested and stored in small 20kg boxes. The rosé is produced with a light saignée followed by fermentation by wild yeast in stainless steel and concrete tanks. Aged sur lie for two months in stainless steel tanks.
