Our great friend Ferruccio Grimaldi is back and crafts absolutely delicious Barolos up in the secluded commune of Novello. His family are farmers that have worked with incredible vineyard holdings around the Barolo appelation since the 1930’s. Today this small estate has shot to new heights, after 20 years of work in the cellar Ferruccio has found a deft and balanced approach to aging that combines both barrique and cask. The wines are gifted with elegance and an approachability that shows Barolo can and is still evolving. We love these wines, they show the very best of the ‘new school’ and point to where these producers are headed. We’re telling people all the time to stop and re-learn what Barolo is about and wines from Ferruccio are the reason why!
