  • Varietals: 100% Tempranillo Peludo

  • Vineyards: La Canoca, located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, La Rioja. Vines planted in 1985. High density plantings on trellis in order to reduce yields. Environmentally integrated agriculture. Employing viticulture that respects the biorhythms of the plant and vineyard. Organic fertilization.

  • Soils: Calcareous clay.

  • Winemaking: Strict selection during hand picking at harvest. Temperature controlled fermentation with selected indigenous yeast in large oak vats. Total skin maceration is 16 days. The wine is transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation. 20 months in new Bordelaise barrels of French (90%) and American (10%) oak. Racked every four months.
